Suggestive Activities
PreK/K:

What letter is this? What Color is the letter? Can you give me the sound or sounds that the letter makes? Also have them point the letter that you are going over.

Next you can complete a See Think Wonder activity with your scholars. Ask what do you see in this illustration? Have them tell you what colors they see and ask what are the characters doing. Next ask them what do think is going on? Have them guess what happening. Last, ask them what they wonder will happen if the story were to continue? You could have them illustrate this our have them verbally tell you.

After this read the text to them. Check for understanding and see who was close to getting the story correct. Then focus on the vocabulary words. Those are the words of the week. Have the students act them out?

1st/2nd Grade:

Vocabulary is huge here! Have scholars start to use these words in other sentences. Have them write a poem, song or their own book using the Vocabulary they learned from this book.
